About the Company

The OpenAI Deployment Company (“DeployCo”) is the deployment arm of OpenAI, purpose-built to deliver enterprise AI transformation at scale. As model capabilities accelerate, deployment has become the primary constraint to realizing AI value creation within large enterprises. DeployCo bridges that gap.

Our ambition is to build the company that defines AI deployment. We operate at the intersection of cutting-edge AI, enterprise transformation, and scaled services delivery. We partner with enterprise customers to identify where AI can transform their businesses and build solutions leveraging OpenAI’s models and products. We work with many of the world's largest and most influential companies to solve their most complex business challenges using the latest advances in AI.

People who thrive at DeployCo get excited about ambitious and complex work. We are deep believers in the future with AI. We execute quickly, value intellectual honesty, and obsess over the solutions we build for our customers.

DeployCo is being built from the ground up as a subsidiary of OpenAI and funded with a partnership of outside investors.

About the Role

We are seeking a Finance Lead to architect and build DeployCo’s finance function from inception through scale. This is a foundational leadership role responsible for standing up and overseeing core finance capabilities across FP&A, accounting, treasury, tax, and investor reporting.

Initially, this role will operate as a player-coach, working closely with OpenAI’s finance organization and consultants to implement financial systems, set up financial reporting, and build repeatable processes. Over time, you will grow a finance organization that can support a large global services business without losing operating precision.

Your day-to-day will resemble that of a first finance leader in a newly formed company: building detailed forecast models, cleaning up source data, reviewing large customer contracts, preparing board materials, evaluating M&A opportunities, answering urgent operating questions, and implementing the systems and controls required to support rapid growth.

You will partner closely with DeployCo’s executive team, OpenAI Finance, and institutional investors to ensure disciplined capital allocation, operational rigor, and investor-grade financial reporting. This role will report directly to the CEO of DeployCo and serve as a core member of the management team.

In this role, you will:

  • Lead and oversee DeployCo’s core finance functions, including FP&A, accounting, treasury, tax planning, investor reporting, and cash flow management.

  • Work closely with OpenAI Finance and consultants to manage financial outputs for executives.

  • Build and own company-wide financial planning, forecasting, and long-range modeling frameworks.

  • Own the end-to-end unit economics framework, defining the metrics that measure and drive performance. Leverage these insights to drive strategic decision making at the executive level.

  • Draft and deliver board-ready materials and investor-grade updates to DeployCo executives, OpenAI leadership, and institutional investors.

  • Evaluate potential M&A targets and support diligence, integration modeling, and post-close financial planning.

  • Serve as a strategic partner to the executive team in setting operating targets and long-term value creation strategy.

You may thrive in this role if you:

  • Have 12–15+ years of experience in corporate finance, private equity, investment banking, or similar environments.

  • Bring deep cross-functional finance expertise across FP&A, accounting, treasury, M&A, and financial systems.

  • Have previous experience with fast-paced M&A and integrations.

  • Are comfortable reporting to executive teams and boards, and interfacing with institutional investors.

  • Thrive in ambiguous, fast-moving environments and can operate with both strategic perspective and operational detail.

  • Are highly structured, analytical, and capable of translating complex financial dynamics into clear decision-making frameworks.
